  • Mexico City: Bugged officials squash cabbies’ beloved Beetles
    Posted June 9th, 2008 at 4:56 am
Say it isn't so; the VW taxi is going out because of modernization in México City.  Anyone that has come here to Mexico City knows there are Bugs everywhere and now it appears that the Mexico City government has implemented new requirements for taxis that will force drivers to replace the VW taxis with four-door cars.  Too I heard these cars were not safe when it came to getting robbed!  One was trapped in the back seat with no way to get out.  But if you are getting robbed ...
  • Mexico City cyclists ride nude in anti-car protest
    Posted June 8th, 2008 at 4:42 am
Today, as I was coming home on the mini-bus on Paseo de la Reforma, I happened to see lots of people riding bicycles in their tighty whiteys, thongs, and in the NUDE. I mean it was like in the middle of the day and I thought, “Welcome to México,” where the surreal is REAL! Since I always carry a camera with me, I almost got off the bus and hailed a taxi to head them off at the pass to take pictures, but decided not too. Why? Posted June 7th, 2008 at 12:02 am
The Dallas Morning News has been getting a lot of heat because of their lack of Latinos on their Editorial Board. They did hire Macarena Hernández for the Board but her editorials fizzled after only a couple of months at the News. Though Hernández wasn't fired, most media professionals, "didn't know exactly what she did there." Well the News posted on their site today that they will have a new series of articles that begin this Sunday, June 8, 2008, on Immigrant Students. Will it looks like Ma...

    Posted June 6th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
I have been keeping up high price gas stories back in the USA and being that I am now in Mexico City I don't drive. I use the great public transporation that is available for only 25 or 35 cents. Yes, that is right, a low price. I hear that many people are starting to use public transportation in Dallas. Now everyone will know how awful public transportation there, especially if you have to trainsfer and there is NO TRAIN near your points of destination. I got this pic from my niece which says ...
